Musical Memory Tour Song List (link)

We put together a Musical Memory Tour of the music we all knew and loved and listened to in the 80s and the early 90s.  With over 1.5 gigabytes of representative music in the enclosed Data DVD with a MP3 Format, this in NOT a CD.

CREATING PLAYLISTS
 
1.        In your main itunes window, go to “new playlist” in the file or edit pull down menu.
2.       A new playlist will appear, label it “Musical Memory Tour”
3.       then proceed to “Dumping the files”
 
DUMPING THE FILES
 
1.        In the edit pull down menu, go to preferences, click on the “advanced” tab
2.       The “General” tab should be open by default.  You are looking for the Itunes music folder location.  This is where all your music is stored. Note the Info and Close.
3.       back in windows land, go to “My Computer”
4.       Navigate to your itunes folder.  Depending on how deep in the hierarchy it is, this could take several clicks.
5.       minimize the window so it is about ¼ the size of your screen
6.       Click File, New, Folder to create a directory, Name it “Musical Memory Tour”
7.       Double Click on Directory to open
8.       minimize the window so it is about ¼ the size of your screen
9.       open up “my computer” again, in another window
10.     find the ZAHS DVD, click on it, and you will see the “year” folders( 1979, 1980, etc)
11.      Select all of them, and drag them into the directory folder you created in Itunes in the other window. This will take a few minutes. When it is done, eject the DVD.
 
ADDING THE FILES TO THE LIBRARY
 
1.        Back in Itunes, click on “add folder to library” 
2.       The window that comes up is looking for you to navigate it to what tunes you want to add, find the itunes library and “Musical Memory Tour” Directory.
3.       In the itunes Music Folder, use the “Date Added” option to find all the songs added, select them all, and drag them to the “Musical Memory Tour” playlist you created already.
4.       Once you have done all this, you can create custom playlists; change the order of tunes, upload to your Ipod or whatever.   Enjoy!
